ITV 1
- Audience

ITV 1 Is the most loved commercial channel among
all key demographics.

ITV 1 aims to attract a wide range amount of audience by
offering programmes that will appeal to them, mostly at peak viewing times as
people are out of work/school and settled down for the night. Although they
mainly target mass audiences, ITV1 also shows programmes for particular types
of audience such as in the mornings ITV 1 show programs that are targeted
towards women since they are either housewives or caring for their children if
they’re at home. ITV will show a minimum number of hours of regional programmes
which will include including news and current affairs etc. Each week designed
specifically for viewers such as if there is an important event on like
Christmas it’ll show programs and advertisement suitable to that event.

the launch of ITV2 in 1998, ITV3 in 2004, ITV4 in 2005 and CITV in 2006.

The ITV1 name was only used in England, Wales,
Southern Scotland and Isle of Man until Channel Television adopted the name in
January 2006, bringing it to the Channel Islands.

Coronation Street, they may have casted her as she is well known for playing a

amount of people, they have a wide range of shows and have a setting which

shows that other people have watched but who also have watched the same show as
the user.

lot of movies and series that are in different genres and have different target
audiences.

as by phone, a virgin box, tablets, computers but you have to pay for it every
month; the price is a small amount so anyone such as a student, worker or
someone who’s retired can pay for it and get a wide range of shows and movies
to watch.

Netflix is commercial operation which makes their own
profit and has no agreement with
the government like the others. They pay for everything on their own such as
the $3bn a year on TV and film rights and also $300m for making its own shows.

BBC Three
- Audience

The target audience for BBC Three is young
audiences that are 16-34 year olds and people who are young in spirit. They
have chosen a young audiences as it’s an opportunities to connect with others
and are looking for things worth talking about such as one of the shows BBC
Three broadcasts.

The target audience needs a sense of humour as
BBC Three’s genre is comedy.

The content that is provided on this channel are
opinionated and thought-provoking which hopefully provides powerful examples of
life,

and adventurous as they may feel that the program can be relevant to their

programs, this is because young audiences like to either relate to a character
or sometimes be attracted to a character.

- Audience
E4’s target audience is between the ages of 16-24 and is
dominantly for females but males are still known to watch it. The target
audience is mostly targeted to people, who are into niche programs and also
like programs with characters being young and around the age the audience is as
they can either relate to a character in some way or find the character attracting.
- Remit
E4 is a channel branch of Channel 4 and has the same remit;
diverse, edgy and daring which is one reason why their target audience is young
as they’re not matured like adults.
- Origin
On 16 December 2004, Channel 4 announced that the subscription
channel would return to digital terrestrial television.
Sky Atlantic
- Audience
The target audience for Sky Atlantic are 16-40, this is
because the programs that are shown on the channel are for a mature audience,
the Young and Rubicam for this channel are mainstreamer since they show programs that are well known and popular such as Game of thrones and Mad men.
The audience who will watch Sky Atlantic are people who like drama and comedy
since that is what they show on their channel. The lifestyle of the target
audience is that they have a lot of spare time since Sky Atlantic there are
blocked schedules dedicated to movies.

Sky Atlantic is a television channel owned and operated by
Sky plc and launched on 1 February 2011 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
- Remit
Sky channels were mostly about sports and movies but wanted
to broaden their demographic by investing in entertainment content, Sky
Atlantic is aimed towards an older, more upmarket audience and having a
five-year deal with HBO. The channel is part of the basic Sky TV package and
the broadcaster will have to to do third-party distribution deals with BT
Vision and Virgin Media if they’re not on Sky.

The casts they have chosen for programs on this channel
are people who are well known for other movies or programs such as Christopher
Eccleston who had the main role for a few series of Doctor who, they have also
casted people like Lara Pulver who was known for the BBC series Sherlock. The
reason they have chosen this cast may have been because choosing popular cast
members will boost the views of that programme and people may be interested on
how they will play a different character.
